POSITION SUMMARY:
The Director of Florida Operations is responsible for leading all project management and field operations across the division. This leadership role ensures operational excellence, resource allocation, and risk management, while fostering collaboration across project management, field operations, preconstruction, and business development. The Director will drive project delivery, ensure client satisfaction, and align operational outcomes with O-A-K’s strategic vision and growth goals. This role serves as a key leader in advancing One O-A-K by strengthening client partnerships, developing high-performing teams, and ensuring quality, safety, and profitability across all projects.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
People Leadership:
- Lead, develop, and retain project management and field teams to ensure high performance, accountability, and cultural alignment.
- Develop and mentor leaders across project management and field operations to strengthen capability and succession.
- Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture that integrates teams across operations and corporate functions.
- Set clear expectations and hold teams accountable for delivering on operational and financial goals.
- Identify future leadership potential within the team and establish succession plans to ensure continuity.
Operational Strategy & Excellence:
- Direct strategy and execution for project management and field operations to ensure alignment with One O-A-K’s vision and goals.
- Ensure operational excellence, quality, and continuous improvement in all project delivery
practices.
- Develop and enforce standardized processes and best practices that enhance efficiency,
accuracy, and consistency across operations.
- Evaluate and implement systems, technologies, and tools that support operational
performance.
- Partner with executive leadership to align operations with long-term divisional growth
priorities.
Construction/Operations Excellence:
- Ensures delivery of operational excellence, quality, and continuous improvement in O-A-K project execution practices.
- Collaborate with finance and leadership teams to establish performance targets and
- accountability metrics. Inform operational budget, monitor functional P&L, forecasts, and project financials to identify risks and opportunities.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance cost efficiency and financial
Outcomes.
Resource & Capacity Oversight:
- Oversee staffing strategies, resource allocation, and workforce planning to ensure project
teams are effectively resourced.
- Collaborate with leadership to balance workload, capacity, and project pipeline across the
division.
- Forecast staffing needs and implement plans to address gaps through recruitment and training,
or development.
- Ensure alignment of talent deployment with project priorities and profitability goals.
- Monitor team performance and capacity to adjust resourcing as needed.
Risk Management:
- Ensure financial performance and contract compliance of project management and field operations is in alignment with divisional goals and long-term financial stability.
- Oversee risk management practices across operations to protect financial performance,
quality, and client trust.
Implement and maintain systems that proactively identify, assess, and mitigate operational and project risks, ensuring issues are addressed before they impact results.
Safety:
- Champion safety across all projects, ensuring compliance with company standards and
regulatory requirements.
- Foster a culture of accountability for safety at all levels of field and project leadership.
- Ensure regular review and refinement of processes to strengthen safety performance.
Stakeholder Relations:
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and stakeholders
to ensure satisfaction and repeat business.
- Provide executive oversight to resolve major client or project concerns, ensuring trust and
confidence in O-A-K.
- Collaborate with preconstruction, business development, and leadership teams to ensure
alignment of client expectations with delivery capabilities.
- Represent O-A-K Florida in external forums, industry associations, and community events to
strengthen market presence.
- Ensure client feedback is captured and integrated into operational improvements.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED
Minimal Supervision.Operates with a high level of autonomy and infrequent oversight. Independently manages workload, makes decisions, and consults with leadership only for particularly complex or critical issues.

General.Provides broad objectives and goals, allowing employees significant autonomy in how they achieve them. They offer occasional check-ins and support, trusting employees to manage their tasks independently and make decisions within the established framework.
EDUCATIONAL & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- A bachelor’s degree in construction management, or Construction Related engineering degree is required
- A master’s degree is preferred
- 15 years of progressive industry experience in commercial construction, with a demonstrated track record of leading projects, managing teams, and overseeing all aspects of a company's construction operations.
- Certifications - OSHA 10Hr required.
