Youth Supervisor (Full Time)

Salary: $47,829.00/year - $59,786.00/year

What qualifications are we looking for?
At YMCA Calgary we strive to ensure our employees are a fit based on their strengths, interests, and future goals. The successful candidate will have the following:
Post-secondary diploma/degree in recreation, outdoor pursuits, physical literacy, or equivalent is considered an asset
Minimum of 1-2 years working in a supervisory capacity within an organization providing services for children and youth
Knowledge and experience facilitating and planning strength-based recreation and youth engagement programming, that includes sport and physical activity
Customer service experience and/or experience working in a health-focused industry or recreational facility
Demonstrate skills in youth behaviour management
Experience working in an effective team to collaboratively achieve desired outcomes
Demonstrates skills in community engagement
Experience in staff/volunteer supervision and development
Embrace innovation and be willing to take initiative
Skilled at working independently and within a team environment
Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task
Computer skills including Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and Outlook
Current Standard First Aid with CPR-C certificated within the last 12 months from an approved AB OHS provider. Asset if certification is issued by one of the following five Canadian organizations: Canadian Red Cross, Heart and Stroke Foundation, Lifesaving Society, St John's Ambulance and/or Canadian Ski Patrol.

What does this role look like at YMCA Calgary?
Duties and Responsibilities include;
Plan and deliver recreation programs for children & youth regionally at different YMCA locations
Proactively engage with and solicit feedback from youth
Manage equipment, supply, and program budgets
Recruit, develop, and oversee a team of volunteers
Administrative duties including program statistics, participant communication, data entry, and reporting
Ensure the safety and well-being of participants at all times
Implement all health and safety systems, policies, and procedures
Be a YMCA Calgary annual campaign ambassador and share YMCA stories
Maintain positive relationships with relevant stakeholders in Calgary communities
Other branch or association duties as required
