What is the role:
As a Composite Materials and Process Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and implementing manufacturing processes for composite satellite components. You will oversee the installation of new manufacturing equipment, develop processing parameters, and lead the transition from R&D composite parts to production.
This role is based in our Arlington, TX office with travel to Saratoga, CA for the first couple months to ramp up.

What you will do:- Develop detailed manufacturing processes and procedures for composite parts
- Create and validate processing parameters for space-grade composite components
- Design production workflow and floor layout for composite manufacturing
- Develop quality control parameters and inspection criteria for raw materials and final parts.
- Create work instructions and training materials for production team
- Support tooling development and validation for composite processing
- Troubleshoot processing challenges and implement solutions
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to ensure manufacturability
- Establish process control methods and documentation
What you bring to this role:- Bachelor's degree in engineering (Materials, Mechanical, Manufacturing or related field)
- 5+ years of experience in composite manufacturing
- Hands-on experience with composite press molding processes
- Knowledge of aerospace quality requirements and standards
- Experience with process development and optimization
- Understanding of tooling requirements for composite processing
- Experience with manufacturing documentation and work instruction development
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Bonus points:- Master's degree in Engineering (Materials, Mechanical, Manufacturing or related field)
- Experience with satellite manufacturing
- Knowledge of clean room manufacturing practices
- Experience commissioning new manufacturing equipment
- Background in transitioning products from R&D to production
- CAD skills e.g. Solidworks
- Programming skills e.g. Python, Matlab or similar
